COLLABORATION WITH EU FUNDED PROJECTS
LETSCROWD operates in a competitive and fast-paced field with several players working on similar problems, and hence benefits from adoption of standards to generate economy of scale and agreement on implementations.
LETSCROWD activities include actions related to communications, cooperation and on-going exchanges with related research efforts, including liaisons with EU-funded research projects and networks of excellence, as well as research initiatives going beyond European boundaries.
Here is a list of projects that collaborate with LETSCROWD and that have similar objectives.
PROPHETS – Preventing Radicalisation Online through the Proliferation of Harmonised ToolkitS
PROPHETS aims to counter online radicalisation, cybercrime, and cyberterrorism at their origins.
Behavioural radicalisation can be seen as a driving force behind online criminal activities. PROPHETS seeks to identify, examine, and understand the various behavioural processes underlying such behaviour in order to recognize and comprehend the individual reasoning behind choosing to engage in such activities.
Through the findings of this project, PROPHETS is developing new methods to detect, analyse, investigate, and fight the ever-emerging threats of online radicalisation, cybercrime, and cyberterrorism by addressing the very factors causing them. Moreover, the project offers a unique real-world impact by fulfilling the following objectives:
- Understanding Online Material
- Identifying Underlying Psychological Traits
- Recognising Ethical, Moral and Legal Concerns
- Exploring Cybercrime as a Service
- Online Awareness, Capacity and Resilience Building
- Tools to Enhance Capabilities and Counter Radical Behaviours
- Policy Shaping, Training and Public Engagement
TRIVALENT – Terrorism pReventIon Via rAdicaLisation countEr-NarraTive
On the assumption that to successfully contrast violent extremism it is needed a more balanced response, combining repressive with preventive measures, TRIVALENT project aims to a better understanding of root causes of the phenomenon of violent radicalisation in Europe, through a multidisciplinary analysis leading to a comprehensive approach, based on a firm commitment to respecting fundamental rights, promoting integration, cultural dialogue and fighting discrimination, in order to develop appropriate countermeasures, ranging from early detection methodologies to techniques of counter-narrative, involving LEAs together with academics, experts and civil society actors at local, national and European level, in collaboration also with communities of reference.
PRoTECT – Public Resilience using TEchnology to Counter Terrorism
The PRoTECT project aims to strengthen local authorities’ capabilities in Public Protection by putting in place an overarching concept where tools, technology, training and field demonstrations will lead to situational awareness and improve direct responses to secure public places pre, in, and after a terrorist threat. This cross sectoral project is an initiative of the Core group of the European Network of Law Enforcement Technology Services (ENLETS).
DCONNEXIONs – InterCONnected NEXt-Generation Immersive IoT Platform of Crime and Terrorism DetectiON, PredictiON, InvestigatiON, and PreventiON Services
CONNEXIONs aims to develop and demonstrate next-generation detection, prediction, prevention, and investigation services. These services will be based on multidimensional integration and correlation of heterogeneous multimodal data, and delivery of pertinent information to various stakeholders in an interactive manner tailored to their needs, through augmented and virtual reality environments.
The CONNEXIONs solution encompasses the entire lifecycle of law enforcement operations including:
- Pre-occurrence crime prediction and prevention
- During-occurrence LEA operations
- Post-occurrence investigation, and crime-scene simulation and 3D reconstruction.
IMPACT – Managing socio-cultural factors during emergencies in public transport systems
IMPACT investigates the essential role played by cultural factors in managing safety and security issues related to emergencies in public transport systems. The project is aimed at analysing the different cultural behaviours for the prevention of emergencies and for the management of emergency events and post-events.
LETSCROWD and IMPACT organized a joint workshop.
DOGANA – aDvanced sOcial enGineering And vulNerability Assesment
The advent of Social Networks has made both companies and public bodies tremendously exposed to the so-called Social Engineering 2.0, and thus prone to targeted cyber-attacks.
Unfortunately, there is currently no solution available on the market that allows neither the comprehensive assessment of Social Vulnerabilities nor the management and reduction of the associated risk.
DOGANA aims to fill this gap by developing a framework that delivers “aDvanced sOcial enGineering And vulNerability Assessment”.
DOGANA and LETSCROWD share a common interest for legal information gathering in the internet.
